Simply Annecy Visits The 2024 Triathlon....

The weather for the 2024 Triathlon in Annecy was much cooler this year compared to last years full on sunshine but maybe the triathletes were happy about that!
If you're a triathlete or para-triathlete and you're tempted to come to Annecy or maybe you want to give it a go, make a note of the date in your diary. It's usually the last weekend in June. There is the possibility to do it individually or as a relay.
For children there are different courses depending on age category:
6-9 yrs = 'Mini-Poussins' (chicks) 50 m swim, 1000 m cycle, 500 m run.
10-11 yrs = Pupilles (pupils) 100 m swim, 2 km cycle, 1 km run.
11-12 yrs = Benjamins (youth) 200 m swim, 4 km cycle, 1.5 km run.
For the disabled, the race is: 200 m swim, 2 km cycle, 1 km run.

1200 participants took part this year, that's 300 more than last year. This is what it looked like....
Despite the gloomy weather, there as a great atmosphere at the finish. Each year when I see the event, I have a fleeting thought, shall I, shan't I? It's on my list!
